Mocha Babylon was originally built for my uncle, Jim Macek, seven years ago. When Jim retired from his executive job, he sold the suite back to me. I have renovated it as necessary and reconfigured the desk to fit one of three possible arrangements, as shown on the floor plans at left. The suite is veneered in stunningly beautiful Macassar ebony, with solid ebony edges. Custom stainless steel handles open the drawers.Open shelves are made of 3/4" thick polished glass. Hidden pencil drawers emerge from the thickness of the desktop. The base cabinets ventilate through ebony back grilles, and through holes lead to an aluminum cord chase that runs the perimeter of the desk, so power and data cables can be directly accessed from any point on the desktop.
